The adapter arrived in good order. Connecting old harddrives with IDE 3.5 went okay, after I figures out that the HD needs to be set to work as Master only. l had hoped this would also work on an old ZIP drive, but no. The drive requires 40 pin IDE, but the adapter has only 34 pins. It also does not fit 3.5 floppy drives, which do not use the IDE standard!
